Branch experts participated in annual International School of Sociologists “Russia and Uzbekistan: in searching effective tools for building horizontal connections” dedicated to implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 22, 2019 “On measures of state support for conducting sociological research”.
The event was organized by Izhtimoiy Fikr Republican Center for Studying Public Opinion together with Russia Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM, Russia), the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan under the UNESCO Program, Tashkent State University of Economics, and Plekhanov Russian Economic University in Tashkent, National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan.
International School of Sociologists in Uzbekistan is being held for the first time on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Republican Center for the Studying Public Opinion “Izhtimoiy Fikr” and Russia Public Opinion Research Center concluded on November 16, 2018.
Within the framework of school conducted by “Izhtimoiy Fikr” (Uzbekistan) with VTsIOM (Russia), the goal of which is to work together to improve the methodology and practice of conducting sociological research through the exchange of experience and scientific publications, improve skills of sociologists, introduce modern methods into the work , lectures, master classes and workshops were delivered by scientists from Russia – Director for Social and Professional Communications of Russia Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM Russia) Sedova N. N., and Advisor to General Director of Russia Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM, Russia), PhD Elena Mikhailova.
On the first day of international school, the participants were greeted by Director General of Russia Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM, Russia) V. V. Fedorov and Strategic Session “Russia and Uzbekistan: in searching effective tools for building horizontal connections” was held as a result of which there was a lively discussion between the members of expert council: Director for Social and Professional Communications of VTsIOM (Russia) N. N. Sedova, Advisor of Director General and VTsIOM (Russia) Mikhailova E.A., Executive Director of “Izhtimoiy Fikr” Khodzhimukhamedov M.K., Deputy Director of Science of Republican Center for Studying Public Opinion “Izhtimoi Fikr”, Doctor of Economics, prof. Rakhimova N.Kh., head of department of PREU Doctor of Economics, Prof. Zokirova N.K., Prof. Goiybnazarov Sh.G., Prof. Nematov J.A., scientists, teachers of the National University of Uzbekistan and employees of Izhtimoiy Fikr.
Recommendations were made on further improving the work of International School of Sociologists at the end of presentations of scientists from Russia and certificates were awarded to the participants in International School of Sociologists.
