A meeting of students with Khabib Nurmagomedov, UFC lightweight champion, world champion and champion of Russia and student of PREU was held at Palace of Culture of the university.
Welcoming the guest director of Tashkent Branch of PREU, academician of Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdurakhmanov K.Kh. emphasized the importance and relevance of sport in formation and development of harmonious personality. In his speech he noted: “… in our Branch and at the University, a great importance is given to sport and sport competitions. And of course, striking examples of sport successes and achievements of sport stars have a great influence on student youth to become a personality and cultivate leadership qualities and will to win. And it is a great success that among such stars there are students of our University.
One of such outstanding representatives of sport world and at the same time a student of PREU Russian mixed martial arts fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov, who perfoms under the auspices of UFC. ”
Representatives of leadership, students and teachers of Tashkent Branch of PREU and Tashkent State University of Economics, media representatives and invited guests came to learn about the athlete’s career, his life and plans for the future. In “question-answer” format Khabib Nurmagomedov shared life stories with students, talked about his formation, successes and, most importantly, about huge work on himself that led him to athletic heights.
At the beginning of the meeting famous athlete noted that here in Uzbekistan he is always warmly greeted, and he came here with pleasure. He especially noted historical places of Uzbekistan, such cities as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva.
“… Like you, I am a student at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and I will be glad to talk with you, answer your questions,” famous athlete noted.
Of course, students were interested in everything, questions were very different: What is your motto of the life? I have several of them. But most importantly I have principles and views. And I am constantly developing them. And it helps me always move forward.
Today you are a successful person, an athlete who has achieved heights, you are successful. What would you like to do in future, personally for yourself? “Yes, I have what you said. But everyone has their own criteria. And the main thing is not to be among those who are missing something. If you have big goals, then success will come to you. The main thing is to be active. … There are many projects. In future we plan to develop MMA here, open an academy so that young people can study here. ”
Students asked famous athlete a lot of questions. Does a person need education? The answer of the athlete: “I think if you are physically and mentally developed, your opportunities increase many times over. And for this it is necessary to continue studying. “
The longer the meeting lasted the more interesting it was becoming. The question was what you would do if you have not chosen a sport. The answer was: “I am engaged in business. We have a good business – greenhouses. I would study, maybe be a coach. … The main thing is to be active, do your own business and try yourself in different directions. “
When he was asked about motivation to achieve sport heights, the athlete emphasized such important criteria as perseverance, work, persistence, because one talent is not enough.
Regarding to motivation for students, Khabib Nurmagomedov noted the importance of setting a goal to be the best, to improve, compete, in literal sense of the word. “Competition is the best motivation,” said the athlete.
The meeting lasted almost 1.5 hours students asked different questions, but the main student answer was the main answer that was keynote of the whole meeting – importance of education, self-development, constant work on themselves.
At the end of the meeting, Khabib Nurmagomedov presented gifts to students who asked the best questions in his opinion.
At the end of the event, director of Tashkent Branch, academician of Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdurakhmanov K.Kh. on behalf of the leadership of PREU rector of the University V. Grishin and all students thanked the guest for the meeting, which was organized with the assistance of vice-rector for further education and branches Asaliev A. and handed the guest a memorable gift.
