On February 14, 2020 at Tashkent Branch of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics there held a solemn event and passed a series of tutorial classes dedicated to the birthday of outstanding statesman, scientist and poet Zakhiriddin Mukhammad Babur.
The event was organized by student activists of the Branch Youth Union and tutors of university’s academic groups. During tutorial hours, in the interview with students, it was noted that in our country they not only restore rich spiritual and cultural heritage of their ancestors, but also carefully preserve it, enriching and developing centuries-old, consonant with universal values of the people. The names of famous ancestors are being revived, their heritage is being studied, memorable places associated with them are being improved.
Under the initiative of the head of state, anniversary of such prominent thinkers of the past as Amir Temur, Alisher Navoi, Zakhiriddin Babur, Mirzo Ulugbek, Jaloliddin Manguberdy, Imam Bukhari, Abdukholik Gizhduvoni and others are widely celebrated in the republic.
Zakhiriddin Mukhammad Babur is one of the most illustrious statesmen in the history of Uzbekistan, undoubtedly.
In this regard, the university hosts various events dedicated to this event. In accordance with the Work Plan of Tutors’ Council of the Branch, tutor hours are held during which students make presentations about this outstanding historical figure. It should be noted that Tutors’ Council of the Branch pays great attention to the development of morality and spirituality of students, formation of intelligent and harmoniously developed generation. A lot of work is being done to implement the initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In oriental literature and, in particular, the history of Uzbek classical literature, Babur’s multifaceted creative activity occupies a special place. In the Branch, in the framework of spiritual and educational work, they strive to ensure that students study rich heritage of Babur.
As part of joint project with the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan, which aims to widely promote interest in literature, music and theater among students, students rehearsed a lot in their free time. In the period from January to February, work was actively conducted on the production of mini-performance based on “Yulduzli Tunlar” novel by Pirimkul Kodirov, in which students of different courses of the Branch were involved. Students of Institute of Culture and Art helped them in this process.
During the event, students recited the poems of the great poet in Uzbek and Russian, together with students of the Institute of Culture and Art, performed song compositions. They showed excerpts and scenic sketches from literary works.
In student performance, young actors, students of the Branch, tried to show rich traditions of the artistic heritage of the Uzbek people. The production organically uses elements of acting trainings, oriental plastic and live musical accompaniment.
As Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Head of the Branch, Abdurakhmanov K.Kh., noted in his speech “…people of Uzbekistan can rightfully be proud that there is an outstanding statesman, scientist, excellent poet, prose writer and translator among their ancestors – Zakhiriddin Mukhammad Babur.
The entire creative heritage of Babur was included in the golden fund of world literature and culture, is the property and national pride of our people. Legends and songs are composed about him, schools and libraries, streets and parks of cities of the country are named after him. In his homeland, in Andijan a magnificent museum was opened and beautiful monument was erected. In independent Uzbekistan, the memory of the worthy son of his people, the ardent patriot of the homeland, is carefully preserved.”
Meeting and conversation with the descendant of Baburid dynasty Zainiddin Mavlonov aroused a great interest among students. A short film related to the theme of the event was also shown.
To pay tribute to his memory is to instill pride in students for their ancestors and educate them as heirs of a great past.
All guests and participants of the event were awarded with souvenirs from leadership of Tashkent Branch of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.
